Actually,I haven`t started treatment yet.My first injection is scheduled for Jan.21.I am reading about all these side effects,I wanted to get a head start on what to do for them.Thank you to all who gave suggestions,I will keep them in mind.
Drinks lots of water to help keep your skin moist and it soothes your dry throat also. Aveeno oatmeal lotion and bath products help with dry skin and itching. However, I found they only gave temporary relief and needed something stronger for the itching and was prescribed Atarax. It did provide relief for 7-8 hours.
If your hair becomes dry and brittle you can use a Aloe glossing polish which is a oil but it helps your hair to feel soft and shiny again. You can purchase this from any beauty supply store.
I had dry crack feet during tx and used Vaseline. No need to purchase the high priced Dr Scholl creams as Vaseline worked great.
Tylenol helps with fevers, aches and pain but only take the recommended dosage.
I finished the 48 tx in October and I found many remedies to many different side effects. I also found that they come and go and new ones come and go. Deal with each one individually.
Could you be more specific regarding which side effect(s) you are having trouble with? There are just so many of them! What wk/month of treatment are you in?
In general;
Plenty of water - I drink about 2 cases a week
Eat whenever you can - I've lost over 50 lbs. so I try to eat as healthy as I can when I can & easily digestible foods, applesauce has become my best friend.
Exercise is always recommended - Just walking, if that's all you can do, is better than nothing.
