Thank You All For Getting Me Through Tx

I took my last Riba yesterday. There no words to describe how much I deeply appreciate everyone on this forum. A special thanks to those warriors that have been on here for years even after they SVR. Your experience and gift for helping people are extraordinary! My chance of SVR are slim because I was a slow responder but I knew I had to try everything I could and 72 weeks was my only option. You all got me through it. When I thought I couldn't do it another day I would log on to this sight and read about your battles and was able to do it one day at a time. Another special thank you to those who are going through the trials. You give me hope for the future. Because of people like you, I feel sure that someday every one will reach SVR! Thank you!

I'm sorry I wasn't around sooner to say congratulations to you. As someone who's been in your exact shoes....boy can I say it and mean it CONGRATULATIONS JOB WELL DONE WHOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!   :)

I sure can't believe that it's already over.  Just like how fast my 3 years has gone by it seems impossible that you have now finished a year and a half.

ALL of my hopes and prayers are with you.  You know we are all rooting for that SVR with all of our hearts!!!!!!!!!

(Oh hey I'll tell you all my mouth ulcers went completely away within two weeks.  As soon as that interferon is out those sores will be gone too and it doens't take that long!!!!)

Thanks all! When I started tx, I accepted that I would feel bad and would just tell myself every morning to just put one foot in front of another and all I had to get thru was that day. One day at a time. The hardest thing for me was to try to be civil. 72 weeks was a long time when I couldn't even think straight enough to communicate. I just did not want to be around people. I did not like even talking! I did only the bare minimum of birthdays, holidays etc. and when at work, I hibernated in my office dreading if any one would want to step in.
I feel better today. I did not have to take an anti depressant but I did start Buspar for the weirdest anxiety that got really bad about week 36. I am on the lowest dose of 10mg. I am not sure it even helped but I am not having any symptoms with it so waiting a while to discontinue. Slept well the last 2 nights, so far insomnia not a problem. Cracked corners of mouth not as painful. Maybe wishful thinking but I think things are already starting to improve!

Big Big Congrats for doing 72 weeks...I know from experience how tough it is. I completed my 72 at the end of July and will be doing my 6 month test at the end of this month. I remember like it was just the other day how odd it felt to wake up and not take a riba.
Be kind to yourself cause life does not return to normal right away but it does return.
And be sure to pat yourself on the back because tx whatever length is he!! and 72 wks just goes above and beyond .

Take care,
Ann

So glad to hear you are done with tx and you'll be feeling better in a few months, if not quicker.  My hats off to you for doing 72 weeks.  6 months almost killed me.

Congratulations on making it all the way through such a long treatment.  I'll be hoping very much that you get to post an SVR thread in six months.  Hope your recovery is swift and take good care of yourself now ... you've earned it.

I can't answer your questions, but I darn sure can give you a great big CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

72 weeks is intense and you got through it.  Congratulations on a fight well fought.

I'm hoping you killed the buggers good.  Please keep us posted.

I wish you a smooth transition back to health and self.

Gotta agree with above advice...I stopped the antiD and anti itch a little too soon and had to restart them both.  Check with your doc and see what they say, but my vote is to give it some time if you are taking those types of meds.

Keeping the hope for your continued UNDs all the way to SVR!!!!!!!!!

Thank you all for the encouragement. I can't even imagine how it was for those who treated even longer. I hope to beat the odds and SVR. Wyntre7 is the only person I found on the forum that had a higher 12 wk tx viral load than 950 and reached SVR. I think her posts said her 12 wk tx viral load was around 3000. Are there any others out there that were over 750 at tx week 12 and reached SVR?

Congratulations on the long haul. What a feeling of relief that must be. You're a warrior yourself, you know, sticking it out for 72 weeks. Here's hoping you start recovering soon and feeling better. Keeping my fingers crossed for that SVR!!!!

Congratulations on clearing the highest hurdle in the treatment marathon!  72 weeks is a long time to be sick and you are to be admired!  Hoping that the upcoming PCR's come out UD for you.

P.S.   If you are on an antidepressant, don't start tapering off of it for several weeks as stopping interferon can make you feel emotionally upset for a few days, starting a few weeks after the last shot.  Also, lots of us suffered from insomnia immediately after stopping TX, caused by the leftover riba in our systems.  It should go away.    On the bright side, within the next 1-2 weeks your hemoglobin will start to rise and you will feel a whole, whole lot better.  Congratulations again!
