Vertex stock

anyone know why the vertex stock price is going down even though there have been some good news about telaprevir of late? I wonder if it has something to do with buying that other company. Oh well hopefully good news later this month from the meeting in Copahagen and it will go back up.

Yeah but if you held Schering-Plough you just made a bunch-o-money last week as they were bought by Merck.

I think there's a lot to it; whether speaking of VRTX, pharmaceuticals or the economy as a whole.  TVR has BOC on it's heels.  VRTX has other procucts too.  And then there is companies' debt, rising unemployment, fewer people having med insurance, reduction of insurance benefit, politicians castigating pharma...Lots of stuff weighing on a lot of businesses.

I'm hooting out loud at your comment and I can't say it's not from hysteria!

Who are those geniuses that got out of the market in time and what knack do they have that my advisers don't?

The best thing about tx is it's dulled my senses to the point that I watch our retirement fund disappear and say "oh well".

"buy umbrellas on a sunny day but I seem to wait until it's raining"

...that's my 401K (or what's left of it) in a nutshell.  I think my 401K agent's motto is "buy high, sell low"...
