Miami witness describes horror of

cannibalistic attack

MIAMI (Reuters) - A Miami man on Monday described how he watched in horror after spotting a naked man gnawing away at the face and neck of another man in a ghoulish attack on a highway ramp in downtown Miami.

"He was ripping into his face with his teeth," Larry Vega said of the attacker.

"He was ripping his skin, his neck. He had him held down. The guy couldn't move really, and he was just tearing into his flesh," Vega told WSVN TV in Miami about Saturday's attack.

Vega flagged down a police officer, who shot and killed the assailant after he failed to respond to repeated orders to stop and back away.

"The guy just stood his head up like that, with a piece of flesh in his mouth, and growled," Vega said.

Police have said the attacker may have been in some sort of a drug-induced craze or delirium.

The victim of the attack is in critical condition at a Miami hospital.

Vega said he was riding his bicycle Saturday afternoon off the MacArthur Causeway into downtown Miami when he saw the attack on the bridge's off-ramp.

"It was one of the most gruesome things I've ever seen in my life in person," Vega said.

"You see these things in the movies but when you see it up front and up close, it's pretty traumatic. It really is," he said.

The causeway connects downtown Miami with Miami Beach and the Miami end of the bridge is a magnet for many of the city's homeless people.

I get very paranoid from weed too,  but I don't eat people. I generally hide. The last thing I would do on pot is go streaking by the freeway thinking people were giant cheeseburgers.
I think like Rvll, bath salts or pcp could be it.  add an underlying, undiagnosed schizophrenia problem and he's a ticking time bomb.

Pot can make you stupor stupid and paranoid but I think that this sort of thing is way beyond pot or schizophrenia.

Yeah we've been talking about this crazy stuff at work.  Can't believe it really happened.  Bizarre!  That poor victim, I wonder if he was on bath salts too.  Some stories say the perp was naked and some stories say were both naked.  Horrific!! and mind boggling!!  Terrible!

I do know of one case, where a guy I know, has always smoked pot in the same room as his son. His son coincidentally (and unfortunately) developed schitzophrenia, in his late teens.
   I noticed, when my friend stopped smoking all the pot around his son (their house is stuffy, no windows open) that his son became much less withdrawn (of course he is on meds)  Even the Psychiatrist smelled pot on my friend, and warned him that pot can exacerbate the sx of schitzophrenia.
    I have also noticed it can trigger bipolar-mania, in a few rare individuals who suffer from Biploar 1.
   Bath Salts....dont know about.  I'm stll wondering why the ex-foot-ball player,and the homeless guy, were BOTH naked....am I missing something about this story...where was the bath-tub? lol

I have never seen pot induce aggression in anyone and I've been around a while.
I've seen people get dreamy, passive, horny, sleepy, hungry, stupid, creative? but never vicious or aggressive or feral.
