can beer cause an umbilical hernia recurrence?

(22 y.o male, 180lb) 2 1/2 weeks post op of my umbilical hernia surgery (small hernia, open repair, no sutures needed) I went to a friendly get together and drink about 7-8 beers throughout the night. I was simply standing and talking casually while drinking. Is there any possibility whatsoever that that amount of beer could stretch my stomach enough to the point of actually tearing the sutures? I only thought that lifting heavy objects would cause it to tear but never considered  consumption of carbonated liquids. I have a hard lump where my surgery site is that I believe is scar tissue (is this normal 10 months post op?) And I only experience discomfort, and mild sharp pains rarely. Thank you
