Hello, recently I engaged in oral sex with someone I am dating (I am female). Several weeks before this took place, the person was complaining of dry skin/cracking around the side of their mouth (not a sore but rather what looks to be that dry skin people often get where their lips meet, from drooling in their sleep). By the time I received oral sex, that had gone away. However, 1-2 days after receiving oral, I had a lot of yellow spots on my tonsils and became very lethargic with a lot of malaise. I saw an ear nose and throat doctor and was diagnosed with tonsillitis. It was left for a while, but I continued to fell horrible so I was given a 3 day round of Zithromax. Within the first 24 hours, I felt almost 100% better. HOWEVER, in addition to the tonsillitis, I also got what I believe to be a yeast infection (just like any other yeast infection I had - white 'chunky (for lack of a less disgusting word)' discharge with no odor and itching). I have an appointment with my gyno soon but because I have had frequent yeast infections, I was given Diflucan. I took two doses, as that's normally what I have to do. The discharge is gone for the most part and the itching is gone (for the most part) as well, however now I have more itching around my anal area. I have checked and there is no discharge or inflammation. I know the symptoms are pretty general, but I had read that these may be symptoms of HSV and cervical HSV can often be mistaken with a yeast infection. If it WAS a yeast infection, I'm sure the antibiotics didn't help the process of getting rid of it and I am aware that may be while I still have itching/it could have spread to the anal region. I do not have any sores. It has been nearly 3 weeks since the oral sex took place. STD symptoms are always so all over the place, that it's hard to figure out and know hwo to be realistic. Honestly, I know that I could read that these symptoms would be somewhat indicative of any STD out there which is why I prefer to speak to actual educated people, rather than continue to freak myself out by pulling up things that can be so easily misunderstood via the internet!
Any thoughts are much appreciated. Thank you.
