Clarification Needed

Ok I have scanned the internet and can't seem to get a straight answer for this question I have!

I occasionally get a cold sore have had them all my life, now assuming this is caused by the type 1 HSV does this mean the likely hood of me getting type 1 HSV genitally is low?  And if my partner has had type 1 HSV on the mouth previously also if I give him oral sex the chances of him getting it genitally?

I should point out as far as we know neither of us have had it genitally before.

I guess I should clarify why I ask this question.  Two days ago I got this tiny little sore type thing it was on the outside of my lip, it didnt behave like a cold sore and by that night had started scabbing over and clearing up.

My partner and I had sex and oral sex the next morning.  Later during the day I noticed it was a bit larger than it had been the day before but scabbed over so wondering what the chances are it was a cold sore, if it was how contagious was it and the likelyhood that I passed it onto him.

The incubation period is up to 2 weeks is that correct?

Yes, the chances are low. Probably close to nonexistent.
