Can I use medicine

Hi I have had herpes for 7 years now recently I met a me guy I would like to become intimate with he of course knows my situation. But is worried which I totally understand my question is that I have taken valtrex during an outbreak is it possible for me to take to lower my chance of spreading it to him? Also can he take it as well?? He does not have herpes and we want to be as safe and Cautious as possible to prevent spreading to him. Meanwhile I rarley have  outbreaks my last outbreak was 3 years ago. Please can anyone help

What if you had hsv1 on genitals. Is that easy to spread to partner.

Do you have HSV1 or HSV2, this is critical to the answer.

If HSV1 then antivirals provide little additional protection to the already very low probability of transmission. If he has HSV1 already, which is a good chance, then there is no real chance of transmission.

If HSV2, then yes, a daily regime of antivirals and condoms provides outstanding protection for your partner.

There is no benefit in your partner taking antivirals in terms of transmission rates.
