Ok, thank you both very much. I will try to stay calm and get checked again in 3 months.
I think it is a common symptom for people who become stressed over having herpes, whether they do or don't. Read up on prostadynia and you'll see what we mean.
Thats if a person has herptic urethritus. Meaning there is a herpes sore in the urethra and if you had that the pain would be through the roof esp when toxic urine comes in contact with the open sore in the urethra.
Thanks all...really appreciate your assistance.
The problem is there's a lot of conflicting info on the web...like this, which states that prosate and urination issues are common for a male during first outbreak.
http://www.livestrong.com/article/118809-first-symptoms-herpes-men/
Having urinating issues with herpes would be if you had a sore in your urethra obstructing urine flow and if you had a sore in you urethra you would be in extreme pain.
Urinating issues in men are often associated with prostitus which is an inflamed prostate gland.
People take valtrex who have frequent outbreaks and if you do have herpes adjustments will have to be made to make sure your partner doesnt get infected but we dont like to talk about "what if,s" here.
Chances you contracted it from a one time affair without her having visible sore are close to zip.
The urination issue is stress over whether you have herpes or not, seems strange but that is very likely what it is. Herpes does not cause that sort of outcome at all.
Wait until diagnosis is conclusive, did this partner have HSV1 or HSV2? Does your girlfriend get oral cold sores, which would be HSV1.
Thanks for the help.
I forgot to mention that I did get an STD test and I was negative for chlamydia and gonorrhea...but I'm freaked out by the fact she said she has HSV and now a month later I can barley urinate. Never had that much of a problem before.
If I do end up with HSV, any idea how long I would need to be on valtrex before I can have normal sex with my uninfected girl?
Just to clarify. The sex you had with your girl before you knew this is the chances im referring to if you do have hsv genital. If you do, then going forward precautions would need to be in place.
Hi, the only symptom you mentioned consistant with herpes primary infection is the body ached but these in itself dont appear herpes related. Most often with these primary outbreak symptoms there would be a sore developing from the point of contact. With primary symptoms (when there are symptoms) would be a fever, body aches as the immune system is mounting a defense with antibodies, then a sore appears.
From what you describe really dont seem herpes related. Also if she did not have an obvious vaginal sore outbreak, then the only other exposure would be if she was shedding which doent happen that often. Put these together with the chances of a one time affair, your most likely not infected.
Testing would be 3 months post exposure.
If you do have hsv genital, you can have oral sex with your girl if your herpes is in the genital area.
Would she get infected from this if you do have herpes gentital? Without a sore developing from you, chances no.
Almost forgot my most important question.
Is it possible, if I am infected, that I could have passed this on to my girl friend in that two week time period?
