Tested Postive HSV2 Questions

I got my test results about a week ago back and it was for igg and the it was 4.77. My question is if it does not match my sexual history is there a way it is a false positive. I have been worth the same person for over 4 years. Is it possible we are both asymptotic. Sorry so many questions is there any medication that would cause a false positive?

I haven't. That doesn't mean it's impossible.

Ok. I would retest with your partner.

Thank you for your help :)
Did you ever hear of someone having a false positive that high before

I would retest. Can't hurt. Hsv1 can have an effect but not that much. Did you test positive for hsv1 as well.

They didn't test for that but I have cold sores that I get about twice a year

Anything over a 3.5 is considered conclusive. No medication will make the test positive. The igg bloodtest looks for antibodies. Not the actual virus. Did your partner test as well?

No not yet. So there should be no need to get a retest?
I do have hsv1 and had a cold sore that day they were taking the blood i don't know if that would jumble up the numbers.
