Coldsore transmittion.

Hi,
So I'm not sure if this is the right area to post this question but I couldn't find a coldsore section and I believe it's similar.
I shared two puffs of a cigarette with a mate, he had no coldsores or anything visual.. However, he had an indented line on his lip.. kind of just dryness..
I'm wondering what are my chances of contacting a coldsore if he even has them, despite that there were no visual ones...
Thank you :)

Very low, but chances are you've had the virus all your life anyway. Most of the world does. You might have even gotten it just from kissing your parents when you were young. Don't worry though; if you haven't had a cold sore yet, then chances are that you're a carrier and may never get one.

Hi if he has oral herpes, the chances you contracted it from a puff on a cigarette with no visible sore would be close to zero risk. Most of this shared contraction is from young children whose immune systems are not fully developed and most often from kissing relatives. But for adults its near impossible to contract it this way.
