Obsessively checking your penis isn't needed. Time to put it away and stop looking at it so closely unless it's something you really enjoy doing.
Most folks who contract genital herpes aren't noticing the signs of infection. Sounds like you probably didn't contract anything but if you really want to be sure then follow up with a type specific herpes igg blood test. Also since it was unprotected sex, if you haven't already, be sure to get full std testing too.

I was tested for HSV1 and 2. I have never had a painful break out. But my husband of 17 years had a break out in Sept of 2008 and I kept telling him to get it checked out my husband kept insisting I cut him with my teeth. But please I was not born yesterday in the last seventeen years of being married to him even in my drunkest moments I have never cut him. Because we are having marital problems I suspected him of cheating on me but he wouldn't get it checked out. So I went to my my Dr. as I was also having a discharge 12 days after having sex and itching, burning sensation like a bladder infection and flu like symptoms for two days. and told him I was suspicious because we had sex a few days before he broke out on his penis. My test came back positive for HSV1 and 2. He swears on the holy bible he didn't cheat on me. But we all the convicted killer will swear on the holy bible and they are always proven guilty. Well I had an episode of rash and flu like symptoms along with a bladder infection many times before but I never had painful breakouts. Though in 2000 I did get a cold soar on my lip which lasted for 2 weeks. At that time I was also experiencing bladder infections and malaise. I never suspected HSV 1 or 2. I might had even contracted it with my first husband since I was diagnosed with Trichomonisis another STD. My Drs always checked me for the other STDs and HIV but never for HSV 1 or 2 until I asked my family Dr. to check me for HSV 1 and 2. My husband still wont get tested. I have read that symptoms will occur 1 to 14 days after contracted it. But you may not always have a break out of blisters for months or even years. So you may be a carrier and not even know it. I also did read that a test can find out if a primary or secondary type. I'm not sure what they mean by that. But would any one know if you can test for how long you've had it for?
Also, is it true that in the first year of having genital herpes you experience the most outbreaks? Thanks.
