I had a couple of sores on the head of my penis. I got tested right away and came back positive for hsv2. The sores stayed for about 2 months, within those 2 months my dr sent me to a dermatologist for further testing ( a culture ) which came back negative for herpes. The last couple of times I have had sex with my wife there has been blood in my semen. I have been reading up a lot and seem to be getting conflicting andwers. Any suggestion? ????

There was no pain in the bumps that were present. They didn't hurt or rupture at any point during the time they were present. I am waiting to get the number from the test. I appreciate your info though, thank u.

Blood tests are much more accurate than a culture as cultures can miss finding the virus on the surface and if the first test was a blood test, and it was igg type specific with a number over 3.5, that would be considered conclusive for hsv2 positive.
