In need of answers

Hi, about 5 weeks ago i received unprotected oral from a sex trade worker (I know terrible mistake I was incredibly drunk at the time) and within the next couple of days I was stressing out about catching something. I went to an STI clinic and had a urine test done that came back negative for gonorrhea and chlamydia, however the nurse told me it was too soon to test for HIV and HSV and that i had to wait. In a state of panic I went to ER as well a week later because I thought i was feeling fatigued and feverish and they did a urine analysis, which came out negative as well as a swab of my urethral opening which is red and seems a little swollen (they never swabbed the inside of my urethra). The STI nurse prescribed me doxycyline which i took and finished, and treated me for NGU as well in case i had it. It is now 5 weeks after the incident and until now i still haven't had any sores or wart show up on my penis, but my urethral opening seems red and a bit swollen... when i have an erection the opening seems more swollen and masterbating seems to irritate it more so and afterwards i feel a slight sting in my urethra. I know something is off, being a guy who used to masterbate regularly I've seen my penis enough times to know something is different. The doctors I've seen assure me I don't have herpes, due to no sores, but i can't help but worry since the other stuff came negative, I was negative for a UTI as well. Is it possible that I have herpes and that it's confined to my urethra? It doesnt really hurt to pee and i have no discharge, also if it was an outbreak without sores could it last this long? I hardly masterbate now to avoid irritation, but this is really bugging me. There's days where i have no worry at all and then certain days I'm stressing out reading everything possible on the internet (unfortunately the internet has no pictures of mild symptoms). Any advice is greatly appreciated thank you for your time.

The odds of anything are very low. You have eliminated the harmful bacteria STDs. HIV was never a risk, there are no known cases of contracting HIV infection this way.

HSV1 is the key risk. If you get oral cold sores, then this is practically no chance at all.

If it is HSV1, then more likely you'd have experienced lesions. Even if you tests positive for HSV1, there will always be the suspicion that it is in fact an oral infection.

I'd suggest this is a fungal or bacterial issue, low grade but persistent. If something more like a lesion appears get it swabbed for HSV.

Not really so much like a wart. Flatter and more into the skin's surface rather than on top. Changing much quicker too, going through a cycle of appearance, blisters and bumps, weepy, drying and crusting, scabbing, falling off and fading... all in a 5-7 day period.

I don't think that's what I'm experiencing as well. For the future though, would the rough skin feel at all like a wart I'd get on my hands? Because i do get those and know what they feel like. Thanks again!

A herpes lesion does have particular characteristics although is similar to fungal and bacterial sores. The herpes lesion is usually a small patch, irregular in shape and much less than a penny in size. the patch is slightly raised rough skin that will have little bumps one or two may be fluid filled with a watery clearish fluid.

I don't think this is what you have here.

Hey Fleetwood20, thanks for the quick response! How would you describe a lesion? is it different from a sore? Also after the exposure, which was only for a few minutes i went home and washed the heck out of my penis. Could this have reduced the chances? I'm sorry I try to research all these symptoms, but the internet only shows the worst case scenarios. I don't get oral cold sores as far as i can remember and the girl never had any sores on her face at the time. Being uncircumcised I'm thinking it may be bacterial. I plan to get a blood test done in a couple weeks once i reach the 8 week point. I appreciate everything that you do and all the people that you help on here as well.
