Is this herpes?

I have had problems with folliculitis in my recent history and I regularly shave my penis as well as pubic are and scrotum. Recently I noticed a small bum on the shaft of my penis. Needless to say I got scared of herpes immediately. It's not red, nor is it a sore. It's not open or bleeding. It's skin colored with a white dot in the middle. It's very tender am to the touch doesn't hurt but when applied pressure leaves a residual stinging. As I stated I do shave my shaft but have never experienced this before. Can someone please enlighten me as to what this "might" be?

Your first step is to have the bump looked at and to get a reliable blood test to search for HSV antibodies, if you truly suspect you've contracted HSV.

Hi, Of course only testing would confirm but herpes sores are not white puss filled but most often clear liquid. Appears more as inflamed infected hair follicle from shaving.
