Does this look like herpes?

Hello! So I have a major tendency to get ingrowns in my pubic region and typically end up picking them out (I know, bad). I have had 1 unprotected sexual partner in the past 6 months and we are monogamous...not that it matters as I know herpes can remain dormant forever. Anyways, the lower bump had been around for awhile and 2 days ago I picked it open, and it looks like in the picture now. The upper bump was just a closed pink tiny bump that I picked open earlier today. I was able to retrieve hairs from both of them. However, they look much more agitated and lesion-y than ingrowns typically do. They are sore when I touch them from being picked at but otherwise no other symptoms. It has probably been a weeks since the first ingrown showed up (pre-picking) and no new ones have developed. Of course now that I am paranoid I am hypersensitive to every bump, itch, etc.
Could this be herpes? If it is herpes, what would I be looking for, progression-wise?
Here is the picture (NSFW), sorry for the yuck factor! I haven't shaved for a few days because I didn't want to agitate it more. http://imgur.com/7ZUjMfc

Why wouldn't you test to ensure your status not only for HSV but other STD's?

I'm no doctor but that doesn't look like ingrown hairs, they look like open sores...possibly from picking but it's very sketchy.

I'd take a blood test to see where you stand as herpes is often missed for issues you presume you have. Always be on the area of caution with these things.

No I haven't! Though now I am just hypersensitive I think and feel itching/stinging all over my labia. If it resolves and I don't get any new sores I will assume that all it was is agitation, and if any new ones pop up I suppose I will go get tested. Thank you for the response!

I think it does not sound or look like herpes. I think the bumps are probably ingrown hairs that are agitated by the picking. Have you been having any other symptoms such as burning or tingling in that area?
