I can not find anything that suggests there is an Elispot herpes test. Make sure the clinic has the correct test. There is one for the Epstein–Barr virus, which is a member of the herpes family of viruses, but it is NOT the herpes simplex test you need.
If the ELISA they offer is a type specific IgG test, that's very accurate. It's not as accurate as the WB, but nothing is. The hsv1 IgG test misses 30% of infections, and 8% of hsv2 infections. You already got the IgG test.
If you are still wondering about if you have herpes, and can't let it go, talk to Terri Warren about getting a WB done. She works with people in Canada, and knows of labs that will do the blood draw.
It's expensive, but talk to her. Find out how much it would be, and start saving for it if you have to.
