Eye Herpes

i might have oral herpes but i'm not sure
but let's assume i do because my mouth has been tingling for the past two days and my tongue hurts and i few months ago i had a rash on my gentiles

so let's say i do have oral herpes and i feel an outbreak about to erupt and i touch my tongue briefly
then about 15 minutes later i touch the corner of my eye

is there a high risk now of me getting eye herpes?

has your bf been tested for herpes with your worries about herpes that you've been having?

certainly get tested for hsv1 to see what your status is. why worry about something you don't even know if you have or not yet?

and no, the scenario you described is not a risk for you.  In adults, most cases of ocular herpes result from hsv1 moving on its own from the mouth area up into the eye area, not from someone spreading the virus on their own body.

I got a culture and a blood test for herpes type 2, but i'm afraid now i might have herpes type 1.

Never assume you have something and not know.  Be seen and get tested for HSV using a type specific igg test.  If you had a sexual encounter sooner than 3 months ago then you may want to retest.  Your symptoms can be caused by other things as well as herpes.

One should if having an outbreak or getting ready to get one should avoid touching their eyes.  The risk is low because if you have an established infection your body has anitbodies to fight off the infection in a new location.  It can happen but doesn't always happen.
