GRACE PLEASE ANSWER!!! or anyone else who is well informed :)

Hi Grace,
You seem really well informed so I was hoping you could answer my question.  About two weeks ago I was at the MAC makeup counter and the the lady was applying eye cream under my eyes.  I guess she had a hand tremble...and she ended up poking my eye slightly with the brush.   This made me freak out about the risk of transmission...mostly herpes ...of anything that might have been on the brush.  My eye feels fine...but the what if's are killing me. Although she swears the brushes are cleaned betweeen people I'm still freaking out. My  questions are

1.  Can the herpes virus live on the makeup brushes....It was at least five or six min before she used it on me?

2.  Would the eye cream on the brush, possibly kill the virus?

3.  I looked online and tried to find the answeres....but the way I interpreted the results...type 1 can live on surfaces for hours.....type 2 can not.  Please help me....I still freaking out and now I;m obessing over it and crying  :(

Herpes would be the least of my worries from having a make over done at a make up counter.

thanks still kind of creeped out....grace do you agree with daisy315?  I just really freaked myself out with the images on google of ocular herpes.  How long do both types of viruses survive on surfaces, the internet stuff varies so much  :(

You are overreacting big time I'm sure you've kissed many more people with HSV1 in your lifetime than ever you shared a make up brush with .... Relax there is no risk from such an incident for either HSV1 or 2 .....
