Out breaks

I contacted genital herpes 30 yeas ago. The only time I have an outbreak is when I over do it at the gym. I am thinking that I tank my immune system when I do this. thoughts?

you certainly need a blood test to see which type(s) of herpes you have in your body.   if you are only hsv1+ then you need to wait and the next time you have symptoms, be seen within 48 hours of their appearance for a lesion culture and typing to see if your hsv1 is genital if you can't recall a history of cold sores as a source for your hsv1.

working out increases your immune system, not decreases it. definitely time for a proper work up to see what is going on. A dermatologist would be helpful if your regular provider is stumped.

I dont recall being diagnosed , but I am certain it is herpes.  Perhaps I should get a blood test but I am 99% sure.

Could very well be that the immune system is stressed.  Mind if I ask how you were diagnoised?  Blood work?  Visual?  Culture?  I am curious if your outbreaks are not outbreaks but maybe fungal infection something like that.
