HSV-2 RE PANIC

Hi again,

I was posting on here around Nov/Dec time regarding a HSV2 scare I had from relations with a guy who had HSV2 (No sex, no current sores on him, just touching and him giving me oral). So I went to a clinic to get checked to see if I had it but unfortunately they didn't test for Herpes but they tested me for everything else. It came back all clear but all the symptoms that I had (itchy, red vagina, discharge) were apparently down to Thrush as they tested and found lots of yeast. I took a series of treatments for it and it cleared up pretty quickly, panic over.

Now its about 3 months later and I just had another small bout of Thrush which I have taken a pill for and used cream and it has cleared up although now I am scared that I may have HSV2 but just haven't shown any symptoms yet or had an outbreak. I just feel its weird to have thrush twice in such a small space of time which I have never had before.

Can someone please advise? I'm slipping back into panicking about it again and its awful. Please help!!

Thrush has nothing to do with hsv and your exposure would not be something to be overly concerned about at all.

Thanks Life360.

Is it true that you can be told you have Thrush when you actually have HSV2? I was told you can only get checked for HSV2 if you develop blisters??! What if I have it and DON'T have blisters?! I got checked a few months ago for other STD's and thrush when I was experiencing symptoms mentioned before and it came back with Thrush but could it be possible that I have Thrush as part of HSV2? I'm worrying the docs have it wrong.

After my second bout of thrush recently I have taken a caneston tablet and have been using the cream and that has got rid of the white discharge but the itchiness and redness on my vagina hasn't cleared yet. I also have the same tingling up and down my legs (sometimes my arms swell) and goosebumps that I had before. I'm so worried! Please advise. I might go and see a doc again. Sorry for the essay.

Hi the issue here would be the oral sex and herpes transmission. Oral hsv is almost always hsv 1 not hsv2. I would not even consider he had oral hsv2 at this point.
