The best way to understand more is to have your partner test. This will indicate what is a risk (or not!)
He tested negative before we got together.
Then there is a big chance that this is not herpes.
The only thing to eliminate here is HSV1. Your partner could still have it despite a negative test. I'd follow up with testing 12 weeks after symptoms appeared.
Overall this is all leaning toward your symptoms not being herpes.
I get cold sores im not entirely concerned about that. I've gotten them since I was about 12 if memory serves right.
And shouldn't 18 months be long enough for my blood to turn positive?
I talked to a nurse and she said I came back positive for type 1 negative two and that the medicine I was taking wouldn't mess with the blood test and I asked her since I get them on my mouth does that mean my genitals were fine and the only thing she said was that if I get an ob to get them swabbed. So im a bit confused am I fine?
Yes your fine and have oral hsv1 and most likey from childhood so dont worry about your genitals
