How do you know if you are having an outbreak

I posted a question yesterday about being retested because I get so confused with this stuff.  This forum is great, thank you.  So if you know you have hetpes from a blood test, how do you know if you are having an outbreak or not?  Do I run to the doctor every time something doesn't feel right?  I was diagnosed with bv at the same time I had the blood test.  I'm done with the meds but I'm still having irritation.  Could this be hetpes or bv still?  I really don't want to go back to the doctor right now. And in the future should I assume that every time I itch. I'm having an outbreak?

All of this would be so much easier if I had an outbreak like you imagine herpes to be. If one other thing came back positive or I had a number value, I wouldn't question it. The doctors office doesn't help at all.

Yeah that's what I was thinking.  I want to get retested because I'm not convinced but wondering if I'm just looking for something that isn't there.

What we need to do at this point is to confirm once and for all about your status since this is an issue. Have the Western Blot test done.

Also the sore I had was not painful unless my panties rubbed on it for a long time and I had no symptoms before the sore.  I didn't have any itching or irritation until after I was diagnosed with herpes and bv. Not sure if it is in my head.  Lol

Hi life360. I think you posted on my question yesterday.  I don't have a value because a they said is negative or positive test   I had a sore that the doctor said didn't look like herpes but she did a culture and it came back inadequate.  My igm test came back negative an my boyfriend of a year and half came back negative. So I have a positive igg test for 1 and 2 and you said yesterday that was rare.  No number range.

Hi, Tell us more about your herpes including the test and the value. Many dont have outbreaks and those that do most often describe them as a blister type or razor type cut with genital.
