Herpes/Oral Sex

OK.  I know all about safe sex, dental dams, etc.  And yet I find dental dams really problematic for performing oral sex on my girlfriend who has Herpes.  They have these spandex hoods - are they non-pourous?  Are there any tools/aids, ideas people have about this conundrum?

I doubt there is an easier way I'm afraid,is your g/f on Suppressive Therapy this wll help as far as the number of outbreaks and shedding is concerned therefore reducing the risk of transmission.
Does she have HSV1 or 2

Dental Dams aren't bad, necessarily, it's just that they're hard to stay in one place/hold onto, etc.  So I'd love an easier way of doing it.

Well I just had a look at some ..... oh lordy those are scary looking things I think I'd rather not bother with Oral sex than see someone with that thing wrapped across their face in the dark  .............

Sorry I'm not being very helpful here at all :(
Maybe another member can help out with that question
