Quick Summary of everything that may be applicable: In early 2015, I was tested positive for HSV1 and negative for HSV2.
- I received unprotected oral sex from a guy I hooked up with in the past - lasted a minute - I didn't cum.
- (+4 days from incident) I felt a slight uncomfort in my urethra
- (+5) the pain persisted and the skin on my penis started to tingle (+5)
- (+6) the skin of my entire penis, scrotum, and legs started feeling a cooling/burning sensation like ben-gay and I went to the doctor. I took a urine sample and the dipstick indicated a UTI. They sent the urine sample for testing. She never inspected my penis
- (+7) I wanted a second opinion and went to another doctor for an opinion and he took a urine sample and suggested I get treated for chlamydia and gonorrhea via shot and pills. He didn't think the burning related to herpes. He checked my penis and didn't see anything concerning - there were tiny raised bumps, not necessarily red, but he said they didn't look herpes related.
Both urine samples came back clear with no infections.
- Week through (+15) the burning/cooling on the skin went away considerably - still somewhat uncomfortable, but there were tiny tiny bumps on my penis. They were not really physically raised - just look like tips of a pin just slightly raised pores. Not painful but just sensitive. I masturbated on the 6th. Afterwards, the cooling feeling on the head of my penis returned post ejaculation.
- (+16) the head of my penis still was uncomfortable - looked rough and had a cooling feeling and went to the doctor - suggested I go to urologist - said it could be suppressed herpes and my body is fighting it off but he doesn't know. suggested I take herpes medicine to see but I held off until second opinion.
- (+17) went to the urologist, took a urine sample - Clear - viewed my bladder - clear, and inspected penis saying it isn't really much of a concern and thinks it will pass all on it's own, basically saying hes not concerned with herpes bc there are no lesions.
I know I'm probably over-doing it, but should I get a second opinion. I know HSV1 was the major risk from receiving oral and since I already have it, it is hard to get it in another spot, but could the roughness, small bumps be a sign of me fighting off the infection in another area. If it as HSV2 I was exposed to, would my body be fighting that off like this, too? I just have no clue what else this could be and I want to be sure I don't pass anything on to anyone else.
