had an IGg HSV1 <8; positive no antibodies. Than I also took IGg HSV 2 results equivocal, result was 1. . Can HSV 1( positive) effect HSV 2. And what causes false positive? Thanks!
It can. Hsv2 igg tests are far more sensitive than hsv1 testing. It can get a crossover effect as well as pick up other odd protiens.
