Herpes from oral sex

I had unprotected oral sex with a female over the weekend who later told me that she had HSV2 and takes Valtrex....supposedly no active outbreaks at the moment...also had intercourse with a condom....curious about my level of exposure.....

HSV2 is almost ALWAYS genital. The oral sex most likely was not a risk. As well, you used a condom which provides significant protection. Statistically over the course of a year, and having sex 2X a week, your chances of getting it while using a condom would be less than 4%. If she is also taking suppressive therapy, it drops to around 1%.

So she told you afterwards, interesting. You had some exposure but it could have been worse. Be on the lookout for oral or genital sores which will present themselves within 2-14 days. If that happens go see a doctor.
