I agree whole heartily. I wish I had a time machine to go back and make a better choice. I only got educated on the risks after I put myself at risk. It's very scary the amount of stuff out there - hsv, hpv, trich, clap etc that you can expose yourself to but even worse, be asymptomatic and unknowingly pass to your loved one. I may have got lucky but I won't know for sure for some time yet. The anxiety and guilt have made me miserable over the last 23 days.
Come back and let us know how your test turns out. Best of luck to you.
Thanks for taking your time to read my post and respond. At this point I am about 80-90% sure I have herpes. Those sores couldn't possibly be anything else. Sometimes they get very itchy. Non the less I will still get tested.
I can't believe the wealth of knowledge I have gained about herpes over the past few days. Why didn't I educate myself about this life long infection before? I just can't stop beating myself over the head about this. My guess is during my sexual encounter (missionary position) the CSW right inner thigh (which must have had an outbreak) rubbed against my belly.
Condoms ONLY prevent the penis from transmitting or getting infected with herpes. That is it! There is a whole other surface area that is still vulnerable! So what is protective sex against herpes? Here is my take for males. If you are going to engage in sex with someone who's HSV status is unknown or can't fully be trusted, then...
1) Wear a condom
2) Put on boxer shorts and let the penis poke through the pee wee opening
3)Put on a T-shirt
I am not trying to be funny, I wish I took these measures!
Most important, stay faithful. Sex outside your relationship isn't worth the risk my friends...
Have you thought about getting tested? I know that the website stdcheck says that their herpes blood test for 1 & 2 should be taken at 4-6 weeks. Though there is no guarantee that your body has produced antibodies at this time if you are infected, you do fall into this window now.
Most other sites I read say Possible Detection – 2-4 Weeks
Most Likely Detection – 6-12 Weeks
Highest Accuracy – 12-16 Weeks
I know that the waiting is the worst. I am currently 21 days past possible exposure with no symptoms. My biggest fear is that I have it with no symptoms and unknowingly pass it to my wife.
Hi, if your pubic mound area did not make rubbing contact with her genital area, there was no risk for herpes.
1. First time outbreaks occur in the first week not 25 days later.
2. If your belly did not make rubbing contact with her genital area, there was no risk for exposure.
