Herpes from protected sex?

29 days ago I had protected sex with a CSW. Worst decision of my life thus far. Please read on. During the whole encounter the CSW seemed to take all the right precautions. She first gave me a hand job to get me erect then proceeded to put a condom on my penis. She then gave me oral sex with the condom on. She then applied lube on the condom covered penis and then applied lube on herself. She then ensured the condom is covering the penis all the way to the base (It was as though she was double checking). We proceeded to have sex. During the encounter I tried to massage her clit and suck on her breasts and both times she promptly stopped me. At the time I thought that was a sign she is extra careful. Now I don't know. I was nervous and kept looking down at my penis to ensure the condom was intact which it was the whole time. After I ejaculated she held the base of my penis kind of making sure the condom doesn't slip off, then she pulled my penis out her vagina. With my condom still on, I wiped my penis with tissue, carefully pulled the condom off then wiped my penis with more tissue.

Here is what happens next. About day 12 I get stuffy nose and sneezing that lasts about 10 days . Day 13 I believe I had night sweats. Day 14 I had diarrhea and I was feeling cold even though the sun was out. All this time I din't think much of the symptoms. Day 25 I start having slight headaches and get painless blisters on my belly. About for dots to the left and parallel to my belly button, then two inches above that, a cluster of blisters about a centimeter in diameter. I look at pictures online and to my horror the blisters resemble herpes. At day 28 I get a sore throat and the blisters feel slightly itchy. At day 29, here I am typing, still having a sore throat and extremely scared. I don't know how I am going to function anymore.

Questions:

1) Can the first outbreak of hsv2 take as long as 25 days to appear?

2) I have read the first outbreak appears at point of infection, can this be the belly?

I am an irresponsible man scared that I may now have infected my wife.

I agree whole heartily. I wish I had a time machine to go back and make a better choice. I only got educated on the risks after I put myself at risk. It's very scary the amount of stuff out there - hsv, hpv, trich, clap etc that you can expose yourself to but even worse, be asymptomatic and unknowingly pass to your loved one. I may have got lucky but I won't know for sure for some time yet. The anxiety and guilt have made me miserable over the last 23 days.

Come back and let us know how your test turns out. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for taking your time to read my post and respond. At this point I am about 80-90% sure I have herpes. Those sores couldn't possibly be anything else. Sometimes they get very itchy. Non the less I will still get tested.

I can't believe the wealth of knowledge I have gained about herpes over the past few days. Why didn't I educate myself about this life long infection before? I just can't stop beating myself over the head about this. My guess is during my sexual encounter (missionary position) the CSW right inner thigh (which must have had an outbreak) rubbed against my belly.

Condoms ONLY prevent the penis from transmitting or getting infected with herpes. That is it! There is a whole other surface area that is still vulnerable! So what is protective sex against herpes? Here is my take for males. If you are going to engage in sex with someone who's HSV status is unknown or can't fully be trusted, then...

1) Wear a condom
2) Put on boxer shorts and let the penis poke through the pee wee opening
3)Put on a T-shirt

I am not trying to be funny, I wish I took these measures!

Most important, stay faithful. Sex outside your relationship isn't worth the risk my friends...

Have you thought about getting tested? I know that the website stdcheck says that their herpes blood test for 1 & 2 should be taken at 4-6 weeks. Though there is no guarantee that your body has produced antibodies at this time if you are infected, you do fall into this window now.

Most other sites I read say Possible Detection – 2-4 Weeks
Most Likely Detection – 6-12 Weeks
Highest Accuracy – 12-16 Weeks

I know that the waiting is the worst. I am currently 21 days past possible exposure with no symptoms. My biggest fear is that I have it with no symptoms and unknowingly pass it to my wife.

Hi, if your pubic mound area did not make rubbing contact with her genital area, there was no risk for herpes.
1. First time outbreaks occur in the first week not 25 days later.
2. If your belly did not make rubbing contact with her genital area, there was no risk for exposure.
