Herpes genitales

Hi there
My gyno diagnosed me almost a month ago with herpes, no blisters visible but he said the picture was clear for him.
He put me on anti viral drugs which I took for almost a week, the symptoms got better but the burning feeling never quite went away. Thursday this week the burning came back really strong, even though I have been on valaciclovir 500mg daily since then to prevent just this from happening.

So I started to take 500mg every 4 hours since Thursday evening but the burning is almost just as bad, only thing that helps is cooling it down with cold water but then it starts burning the minute everything is dry again.
Never had these symptoms before and I have been in a relationship with the same man for over 12 years.

Anybody know what I can do to make it go away and for the burning sensation to stop?

I did had a check up with the gyno and he said the herpes was gone, but the area was a bit red still, that was about 2 weeks ago...

you need to stop the valtrex every 4 hours!! That is way too much medication!

honestly you should've never been started on daily suppressive therapy until you had confirmed that you had genital herpes. At this point, just a visual diagnosis is fine for initial treatment but you need to find out if indeed it is even herpes going on !!!  I recommend you go back to be seen monday and get a full exam done again.  Make sure they properly test you for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally too. did they do that the first time?  You and your partner also need to get properly tested for herpes too with type specific herpes igg blood tests to see who has what.

Omg sometimes drs just don't get it!! I had the same problem with my dr so I finally went to a gyno!! Unless you have blisters or legions it's hard to tell if it "maybe" herpes, and if you did have legions your dr should have swabbed the area. Def ask your new gyno for a blood test!

He did check and I had a bacterial infection as well which was treated with a cream and it did go away.

Going back to another gyno today.

But the strange thing is, never had any symptom's before a month ago and hubby and I have not had Sex for months.

My gyno also said a blood test was not worth it because it can show up negative but still the picture would be clear, only way to really be certain is to puncture a blister and then try to see if there was any way to see which kind of herpes it is.

Let's see what the other gyno says today, this burning pain is killing me :(
