Herpes in eye region

I suffer from painful blisters in my eyebrows. Recently, I have developed a hyperphoria in the right eye (problem with the muscle/nerve controlling the eye) and have been suffering head pain/numbness above the eye and severe shooting pain behind the right eye. Yesterday, my right eye was itchy and I had pinprick-like pains in the inside corner of my eye and redness. I have a sudden cough as well.

Could my symptoms be related to herpes simplex/zoster and should I be concerned for my eye sight?

(I suffered from shingles on my forehead when I was 18 - 18 years ago)

Many thanks for any advice.

About the only thing you can do is try to be seen immediately the next time they appear. Don't put anything on them - go be seen .

This isn't likely to be shingles. getting a recurrence of shingles is unusual for startets.  Getting multiple recurrences is even rarer still.

And Zovirax does ease blisters which start with the tingling sensation.

Also, I have seen my GP about this (admittedly after symptoms had eased) who seemed unconcerned. She gave me a cream which next time made the blisters much, much worse. It turned out to be steroid cream which I know should not be used with herpes??
