How do you contract herpes?? Other than sex??

Are there other ways in contracting herpes?? Can you get it by scratching an eyelid, or  simular to that????

if it was that easy to get herpes, we'd all have it.  the virus is easily killed with soap and water as well as the hand sanitizers we use routinely now in hospital settings.

Yeah, your so right about the vitamins, but they do help me feel better. I've never had food alergies, and the only lip products I use are carmex. I know that you can't get herpes by touching another person, my concern is that, secretions on hospital equiptment that I touched through out the day, could have gotten into my eye when I scratched my eyelid?? I cant remember washing my hands after work, but know some germs and viruses survive on sufaces for some time until disinfected, or cleaned. Germs can also be under the finger nails, and me as usual being an idiot and scratching my eyes. I now have a mild yeast infection! Found a bump on the inside of my vagina the size of a small bean?? This all sounds very embarrassing for me to tell you, but I get more advice and support from you than my own doctor!! (I will be setting a appt. to see and dermatologist this week and also due for a pap smear too!)

you aren't going to contract herpes by touching someone and then scratching your eye lid.

keep a symptom diary for your lip issues. be sure to include what foods you eat too. also take a good look at any lip products you use too. if your symptoms continue, follow up with a dermatologist for further evaluation.

you can certainly go overboard on vitamins and end up with just very expensive urine.  if you are eating healthy, not really much you need to supplement with.

Oh I forgot to mention that I've had all blood work done for all STD's and they all came back negative, but I still get fevers at night and lips break out in small little hives that stay for about a week then they go away...... nervous, scared and concerned, I tell my doctor these things and she says there's nothing wrong with me that people get lesions on their skin and it means nothing, but I've never had this until after i scratched my eyelid and I work in a hospital with all kind of germs and viruses floating around. But there's not other rashes or signs of anything on my body! I have become an over obsessed vitamin crazed chick!!LOL
