I called a urologist...got transferred up 3 times to a NP, who was like "hey, this disease is manageable with medication bla bla bla"...I was forced to insist and they referred me to an "infectious disease specialist" practice and their receptionist knew exactly all about igg and biokit and whatnot. I'm just putting this out there for future people who may not know who to call now that Quest no longer offers the WB in their product list.
Most medical practicioners know nothing about this test nor the results and they glibly hand you Valtrex and tell you that you're not gonna die and the outbreaks are manageable and whatnot. I am obviously praying for a favorable outcome. A Dr. in Portugal that one of my partners who is also awaiting HSV outcomes said that she wouldn't regard these scores as a positive. I don't know why the US medical community appears so clueless.
Hi, the biokit is only for hsv2. and your correct in these may be false postives. The Western Blot is the preferred test and you can contact the washington state lab who performs this and be guided on who to proceed in testing.
