I am freaking out about herpes from oral gay sex

Hi.
I am a bisexual male who had an encounter with a gay guy I met online.
We kissed, had unprotected oral sex mutually (I didn't put anything in my mouth, just licked him), rubbed our penises together but there was no anal (he did rim me).
Now it has been a week since the encounter and I am freaking out about whether I have genital herpes or any other STD. There are no real symptoms (no rashes near my penis, no tingling (except the stuff I believe I imagine) and no pain), however, I did develop what I believe to be a canker sore in my tongue.

I am really scared I might have caught something. He claimed to be std free and said I had nothing to worry about but I can't shake off the feeling of fear. I haven't ever had any anal or penetrative sex ever. I also never enjoy my sexual encounters as I am always scared of catching an STD. Any little pimp or rash I am seeing now is scaring me. Am I thinking too much? Is the chance of me catching an STD such as Herpes very likely from what I described?

I will test in 2 weeks time aynways I think but I was looking for some advice and knowledge to help me calm down and move on with life..

Thanks!

Thanks Grace. Should I be worried about siphylis and Ghonnorrea and stuff?

It has been 3 weeks, and every little itch scares me. I think I will go in for testing in a few days too..

You don't need to go for testing in 2 weeks. Even though you didn't have completely safe sexual contact, it was minimal contact and doesn't require any testing. In the future, protect yourself by remembering if your pants are off, a condom should be on. Why worry and test needlessly?

Have you had your hpv vaccine series yet? I highly recommend the 3 shot series if you haven't!

Hsv1 and hsv2 present the exact same on the genital area. You can only tell the difference with testing.

Thanks for your quick response. It makes me feel a lot better. But if you do not mind, can I pick your brain a little more to be more knowledgeable about the risks of oral sex?

1- What are the difference in the physical symptoms of hsv1 and hsv2 on the genitals?

2- If I do not see any obvious sores on my genitals, or any obvious pain, is it safe to assume I haven't caught an std, importantly in this case, hsv1/2?

3- If I do want to go get tested 3 weeks after the encounter, results for which stds will be highly accurate?

4- Should I test anyways to be safe? I feel itchy on my genitals, but I am guessing this may be due to the dry weather we are having currently, as I am itching all over as well.

Thank you for your time, I know clarifying the same things over and over to people could get a little annoying, however, you guys have no idea how helpful you are to the young uninformed like myself. :) thanks!

Hi, you licking is no risk. Him giving you oral and no having any lip sore at the time, your risk would be close to zero from this one time affair.
