Nerve Pain

This is a bit of a weird question. I suspect I've got hsv 2, and I've already made asked two related questions on these forums. However, something new has poped up and I need to know this.
I've got a bump on my buttcheeck, that when touched produces small local pain but notable pain on my tailbone. the distance bentween both spots is about 2 inches. Is it common for herpes lesions, when touched, to cause pain not locally but rather at the end of the nerve?

I say yes to nonherpetic as the area your describing is not common at all. And you most likely have oral hsv1.

Hi, herpes lesions would cause pain because they are sores like any other sore would be sensitive to the touch. Some people describe a tingling as the virus is traveling up the nerve but tingling is not painful.
However there can be complications with some forms of herpes, like Shingles that can cause nerve pain. I would suggest you test for herpes if your concerned.

Only a combined test for hsv1 and 2 is available in my country, and the test says im positive for either type 1 or type 2. can't really get a type specific one. could a non herpetic bump also cause something I've described?
