Confused as I was 7 months ago

Sept 08 I woke up and one side of my vagina was swollen and extra moist.  I didnt think anything of it until the next day when it began to hurt, later that day the inside of my vagina wall had a sore.  I searched online and it didnt look like anything I  had ever seen.  The next day i went to Urgent Care and they told me I had a bartholin gland cyst and to follow up with my gyn to have it drained. The next day (day 3) I went to my gyn who on site told me it was HSV2 and not what I recently thought it was. He did he test and 2 weeks later the results came back positive.  My only confusion is this sore lasted exactly 4 days, I never got the flu, no pain during urination ect...No addtl symptoms like the ones I read online.  Here it is 03/2009 and I havent had another outbreak, is this common? Im not taking any meds bc I was waiting for the next outbreak to see how often I would get them.  Does this make any sense?

If your leson culture came backas hsv2+ thenyou have it. The lesionculture won't come back + unless hsv2 is there to show up on it.

If you haven't already - be sure to read the herpes handbook at www.westoverheigts.com to learn more about your hsv2 infection.

Mr Dr did a lesion culture exam?  Is that the most accurate test?

What test did your provider do?  Was it a blood test or a lesion culture?

yes this it makes sense. you may never have another outbreak just because you have the virus. the herpes virus lives in  your nervous and thats why there is no cure for the virus. but as long as you dont trigger the virus then you will not have another outbreak. i have had 3 outbreak since i was told that i had herpes. mines were all due to stress. But as long as you dont trigger the virus you wont have any outbreaks. also you will know when you will have another outbreak because you will feeling a tingling sensation in the gential area.
