Herpes outbreak 2 years on?

I'm very worried about the possibility of having herpes.

About 2 years ago I was with that girl who had herpes, genital herpes. She contracted 3/4 years before that so maybe like in 2010/11. She told me she only ever had one outbreak and that was the initial outbreak around the time when she first contacted it.

I was with her only for a few months or so and we never had intercourse and we never performed oral on each other but I did finger her quite a bit and she touched my genitals as well.

After things ended, I didn't think about it again. However, 2 weeks ago I suddenly got this itchy red rash around my inner thigh which eventually progressed to my buttock area and also within the cheeks of the buttocks. It was reddish then I noticed other blisters which seemed a bit greasy and possibly leaking fluid. I'm not certain. However it was never painful, although I recall having a slightly tender painful lymph node in the thigh area. Assuming it to be a fungal infection or jock itch I just used some steroid cream and antibiotics and it eased however I can still see the scabs on some of the blisters.

I realise 2 years is a bit unusual for a potential outbreak but the symptoms I've described are classic herpes symptoms? It could have been heat rash or bed bugs as I was traveling two weeks ago staying in hostels etc. Just to add I've never had intercourse, never gone down on a woman and only once or twice has a woman gone down on me. Obv I've had other physical contact with women like kissing, fingering, body rubbing etc but nothing more than that really. But this last girl 2 years ago def did have herpes so that's why I'm worried.

Just been to the doctor and I showed her pictures of the rash that I had at the time when it first broke out two weeks ago, and she said that it's not a herpes rash and the red lesions/blisters looked more like a fungal infection rash, folliculitis. Also she said that herpes blisters/rash is usually always painful but not itchy.
