I ran some tests in manchester for an unknown suspected STI, the doctor took samples of my blood, urine and urethral swab, after two weeks the doctor told me all my results where okay apart from the blood count which was abit low. after a few months the itching of my private part started, my body started tapping in various parts, i have sore throat and i feel terrible pepperish pains in and around my private part. I saw another doctor when i travelled to nigeria, and mere looking at the reddish rash in between my laps and close to my scrotal sack, the doctor said it was GENITAL HERPES,is it possible that the doctors in manchester did not include herpes test,i cant contact the hospital in england straight away,as they wont give me the information until i come myself. Please advise.

I recall from the onset that 3 days after i had unprotected sex, i had rash on my lower end of my tummy just on top of the pubic hair, and they were itchy, i took some antibiotic and they dissappeared after a few days. this happened again and again, i took same medication and off it went and the itching on my penis went away as well, for a couple of years i felt okay, until it started with all these horrible symptoms that i cant explain. sometimes i fell movement and it feels like insect bite all over my body.sometimes early in the mornings i experience strong and irrestitable intching on my penis, which wakes me up then afterwards theres a swelling on one particular spot. this swelling goes down on its own when the itching subsides. i am confused. i need help

Hi yes, herpes is not a normal testing and often it would be requested. Visual diagnosis is not a way to conclude its herpes. The scrotal area is not a common place for a recurrent out break as the skin is too thick and with a first time infection of herpes would be at point of contact like the shaft and not the scortal area. Also it only appears on one side. From appearing to scabing over and healing takes a couple of weeks on average.
