Whitlow?

Can whitlow occur as just prodome symptoms without actual blisters appearing. For the past six months I've had burning at the tips of my thumb and pointer fingers on my left hand that happens intermittently. It'll last a few days and then go away. It almost feels like your finger would feel if you typed too much. Now I have two very itchy, red spots near the joint of my thumb that have itched for two days. Keeping an eye on them but they don't seem to be blistering. Every time I have something "intermittently" it makes me panic about herpes.

Thank you so much for your response Grace! I feel that I've read so many of your responses lately while falling down a well of anxiety and paranoia. Being that all my symptoms are atypical both genitally and all over, it's probably about time I take a deep breath and come to terms with what anxiety is doing to my body. Working on getting into a urologist soon to have my urinary symptoms checked. It's really wonderful that all of you take the time to answer questions. Apologies for doubling up on my posts. I'm new and felt that questions regarding genital herpes and questions regarding whitlow should be two separate questions!

Whitlow causes obvious lesions and is very painful. Sounds like a non-herpes related issue that you should follow up on with your provider.

I'm sorry. I'm new to posting here. I just created a new post because I was talking about different symptoms on a different body part. Won't happen again! I understand that my anxiety is probably playing a big role in this but I do know that the burning and itching isn't just in my head.

Please keep to one post.

No this is not possible or a sign of herpes. You are letting your imagination get away with you.
