Oral Herpes? Shingles? Blisters? Please Help!

I am extremely concerned and can use some information. As a child i use to get blisters on my skin that would  hurt and burn. I know they were herpes related but i do not know what exactly they were. I use to see a dermatologist for the herpes blisters. Recently I got a blister on my lip (usually I don't. They usually appear on my stomach or chest or arm). That's why I'm very confused with what I have...I'm not sure if it's HSV1 or Shingles. I went to the doctor but she didn't seem too concerned about it as i was so I have a few question to ask that for some reason my doctor avoided to answer.

1. Is it possible for it to be HSV1 or Shingles?
2. Is there a way to get tested for both?
3. And Is there a way to catch Shingles through sexual contact?

Please Help...I could really use some reassurance. Thank You.

oh coolies. But i just want to let you know that i got the blisters recently yesterday. I went to my doctor and she diagnosed me with Herpes Zoster aka Shingles. How is it I have it if it never reappears? I also have eczema...maybe it reappears because of that?

if you don't get a response, bump it back up as is advised in the read before posting post :)

Sorry I just didn't get any response before and was concerned. I'll keep them in one spot for future references. So the blisters that reappear on my body wouldn't be shingles? I don't what exactly it is...it could be hsv 1 but i only got the blister once on my lip. Like I said my doctor wasn't as concerned as I was.

shingles doesn't reoccur hardly ever.

why wouldn't you think hsv1 on your lip?

please keep all your questions in the 1 post. you have several going on now and it's easier for us if you have all your info in one spot for us to glance over. this is in our read before posting post on this forum.
