Baby was exposed to herpes

So my mother has hsv2 on her notes she got the blisters going in Saturday and she just took the baby today the doctor gave her a note stating to keep a bandaid on it and that would help minimize any contagiousness. But now that I sit here I worried that he could be exposed to getting it. I sent hand sanitizer and told her to wash her hands and that she was not allowed to make his bottles. My questions are
1. What are his chances of getting it when her sores have been popped and dried out for at least a day and she's on medication.
2. And how long do I have to wait to try and get him tested to make sure.
3. She is only 4 months old so I am super scared at what it would do to him

Oh believe me i understand. Your son is not at risk. Hsv2 sheds very little and is rarely an oral infection which also helps. When ever your mom has an outbreak just have her refrain from face to face contact.

Your mother has hsv2 on her nose? If i understand that correctly, your baby is at no risk unless your mom rubbed her nose on him. Your baby isn't at risk ontherwise. On a side note, a lesion that is scabbing usually is not contagious anymore. The healing process usually means the virus has retreated.

Yes it's on her nose. And she had a note saying if she kept a bandaid she coukd return to work.. So i figure he should be okay. But he is my one and only baby and i got in a panic..
