Prophylactic use of valcyclovir

Could I get an expert to read the Bend The Rules post in the community herpes forum.  I think I have an interesting point about prophylactic use of valcyclovir and would like some opinions

Thanks

The answer is no, a HSV free person taking antivirals is unlikely to be afforded any protection. The virus proceeds through the skin to nerve endings, hence unless the medication provides additional protection in the skin, which I don't believe oral antivirals do, then there is little if any additional protection.

If infected though it is likely that the symptoms would be much less than in the absence of taking antivirals.
