herpes anitbodies showing up on test

if i were to have genital herpes and have a really mild initial outbreak (still not sure if it could be hereps). would the antibodies show up now on a test or would i have to wait until possible outbreak was over for antibodies to show up on test. or would i still have to wait 3-4 months to get conclusive, accurate results.

I guess it depends on the antibodies.  I tested equivocal and they told me to come back in 2 months for a retest to see if the antibodies increase or not.  If so then it is most likely herpes.

I don't think you would have to wait, I believe antibodies show up right away if I'm not mistaken.  Reason being is because the antibodies show up as soon as an infection shows up because they need to be produced in the presence of an antigen (hsv).
