Razor or Sex - HSV1
I used my sisters dull razor, i dont think she has hsv1. i even thought the razor was mine. but I was wrong. I then had sex with my new boyfriend for the first time the same day. I had my first initial genital outbreak of HSV1 within two days. Who is responsible for giving me genital HSV1?
swab came back positive and blood came back negative. the doctor told me i had to be infected in the last 6 to 8 weeks. he was the only one i was with and the only other factor was the razor. i think its him but am scared he is going to come back negative. but we are new to the relationship, so its possible he has been with someone recently too who could have infected him?
But how were you diagnosed? What specific test came back positive for HSV1? Swab or blood and what were the exact results?
yes i was diagnosed hsv1. i had an outbreak two days after the condom broke but it was also the same timeframe of the shaving. he didnt have any cold sores or visible outbreaks. he still hasnt. is he still infected?

Almost undoubtedly an infection would have occurred as a result of the sexual episode. The virus, if present at all, would not live long enough in sufficient quantity to infect you on a razor.
