just diagnosed visually. first outbreak

1. About how long does it take for lesions to clear up when you first get herpes without meds? 2. if i take meds How long does it usually take for them to heal lesions during a first outbreak? i have felt burning but nothing else. Will the meds stop this feeling? no lesions hav poped or scabbed. Will they always do this? Please Help

i told him to do it but he said it would be a waste of money since i hav no insurance and i have to pay out of pocket. i had unprotected vaginal sex and the lesions appeared 10 days after it. he gave me the medication and told me to come in as soon as i saw a new lesion or at 3 or 4 months for a blood test. My lesions look like a rash but only in the 2 locations.  one has one blister looking thing but it does not seem like its gnna pop and does not hurt . They are on the head of my penis. but he said he was pretty sure it was herpes. i had no symptoms besides the rash and the burning sensation came along about a day after.

At 3 days i would have had the culture done but anyway just have the blood test at the 3 month mark. What was your exposure?

thanks for your help. I had lesions for 3 days so my doc said that a culture might not be accurate since 48 hours had passed and i had recently had a negative result last time i tested for herpes. i slept with a new woman so if got it it must be from. Im just confused about ho long it will take for take for the meds to kick in. Ive read some stories where it has healed lesions in 2 days and some in 5 but i guess it depends on our immune system. Thank you for your response again

Hi, visual diagnose for herpes is not they way to approach this. You need either a swab of a recent sore or a blood test. Sores heal on an average of 2 weeks and slighly faster with meds.
