Question about my diagnosis

So here's the information I have. 5/3 I had unprotected Oral sex with a girl. on 5/7 I had a rash that My doctor insisted did NOT look like herpes rather a bateria infection.  On the 10th I was cultured tested and had blood taken. The Culture was a "rapid" test and was NOT typed. THe result came back simply as "hepes simplex virus" My doctor said that I could have be "exposed" without contracting the virus. and put me on 1000ML of Valtrax for 10 days.
I did experience flu like symptoms and swollen glads in the Neck only. My IGG blood work came back negative with <.2 so my doctor thinks everything will be fine and that I may NOT have sontracted the virus even tho I had a positive culture test. I am waiting a few more weeks to get more blood work.
My question is: Is this likley, could I not have the virus?

you need to wait 3 months post encounter to repeat the blood testing.

My blood was typed and negative for both. I am having another blood test at 7 weeks after encounter do you think that will return results?

you tried to post previously on the herpes expert forum in other people's posts. you have to pay to post there and in your own post to get a reply.

there's no such thing as being exposed without contracting the virus if you had a positive lesion culture. no idea where your provider got that information but it's wrong.  you have genital herpes, now you just have to figure out what type you have. If you only received oral sex as your exposure, it's hsv1 genitally most likely. do you know if the blood testing you had done was type specific , just hsv2 or a combined herpes blood test?

at this point, repeat type specific herpes igg blood testing 3 months after the encounter. should you get a return of symptoms before then. be seen promptly for a repeat lesion culture and make sure it's typed too. confirming hsv1 infection on blood testing can be difficult and it's unfortunate that your provider did not follow CDC guidelines and have your original culture typed :(
