Risk of getting any infection from dental checkup

I visited a dentist today for my normal checkup. She was not wearing her gloves however didn't put her hand in my mouth as such. She checked my oral region from her magnifying glass instrument and used a suction. I was the first patient in evening. The entire procedure only lasted for 2-3 minutes. No cut or bleeding reported. However now I have a fear that can I get infection such as Herpes, HPV and HIV from it. Also they said that they sterilize the instrument but still I am in fear. Also I have health anxiety. Kindly help

So reading your previous questions, and this one, it seems like you have a real phobia of germs, or maybe STIs specifically?

In any case, there is no way to get any of these infections without having sexual activity. They are called sexually transmitted infections because you have to have sexual activity to get them. (Some are blood borne pathogens, and can be transmitted by sharing needles for drug use, too, but that didn't happen here, either.)

None of these infections can survive outside of a human body long enough to infect you through dental tools, or anything else - kitchen utensils, counters, bathrooms, door knobs, etc. The only way you'd get it is sexual activity.

Are you receiving any kind of treatment for your anxiety? You should talk to your doctor about it. There is good treatment available, and you deserve relief.

Actually you are right that I have health anxiety. But I have heard of some instances where people have got it from dental procedures. However in my case any sharp object or any such procedure was not involved and it was a normal checkup. I just fear that if the previously used instrument were not washed and used on me directly so can I get it. I was obliged to your answer. Kindly help
No one has ever gotten herpes or HPV from dental tools.

People have gotten hepatitis C and HIV from dental tools, but those are from the use of needles for anesthesia or numbing. You didn't get either of those. No one has gotten anything from normal cleanings.

Really, there's no risk here. I hope you consider getting help for your anxiety.
Thank you for the help. I would ask only one last question. You said that people got Hepatitis and HIV from dental procedures due to the needle used but is this possible for the normal magnifying glass instrument used by the dentist to check my mouth and by the suction instrument which releases water.
No, if that were possible from those things, I would have told you. Nothing that could have blood in it when into your bloodstream, no matter how you imagine it could.

I promise you there was no risk from what you had done.

You need help for your anxiety, really. That's the issue here. If it were that easy to get something from the dentist, everyone would have HIV or hepatitis.
Thank you for help. I will visit my psychiatric tomorrow itself and will come out of it
