Shedding only occurs from the nerve endings of the infected ganglion. Rubbing directly with the shedding point with a sensitive area such as genitals or mouth is required for a pragmatic chance of infection.
What is your situation though? A low positive that needs verification?
Yes I have a low IgG positive 1.73. I am a virgin, has not done any oral sex, or kissing. No gf for a good 6 years.
Then this is highly likely (90% plus) to be a false positive. A Westernblot will sort this out, but to be honest I wouldn't worry. Another IgG test in a few months has a reasonable chance of being negative.
You simply cannot have genital HSV2 if your penis has been nowhere!
