herpes 12 vs 16 weeks

hi,
how accurate would the herpes blood test be at 8 weeks?.

also, most of the information online mentions 12-16weeks.

that is a big time range. Could someone please clarify the chance of a negative herpes test at 12 weeks turning positive at 16?

Thank You.

I was negative at 8 weeks and it stayed that way at 12 weeks and at 16.1 weeks. I'd listen to the feedback you have been getting regarding this and move on.

Hi..
I just got back my result for the HSV 2 (genital herpes).. The results just say <0.90.. Which means negative on their scale...Does not really give me a number..they used a HSV 2 IgG type specific Ab Herpeselect test.... I called them up and they say the result is about 97% accurate 4-6 weeks after exposure.. I tested at 7 week 5 days ... (54days).... I know n I will test for the full 10 panel after 4 months but can I be at peace with this test and assume that the test at 4 months is just for the heck of it..

I had protected sex (vaginal and oral) with a girl (as good as a CSW)... No condom break.. Condom slip upwards in between but the tip always covered...

I tested for the following

Gonorrhoea and chalmydia after 2 days - negative
Hiv PCR RNA and antibody after 2 days - negative
HIV RNA after 12 days - negative
HIV PCR RNA and antibody after 6 weeks - negative
HSV 2 after 7week5days - negative

My girlfriend is getting her Gardasil shots for HPV

Can I be a little at peace till the next two months because really don't want to spend time and money to test at 3 months in between..since HSV2 maximum incubation time is 16 weeks as per Guidelines..

Any comment would help.. I want to get rid of this headache once and for all..

Thank you for your comments..

At 8 weeks 90% of people who are infected test positive for antibodies. The others will have raised levels of antibodies or probably have some immune issues. Hence its a great indicator. We just wouldn't be giving complete advice without suggesting the last test be in the 12-16 week range, but we have no doubt it will be negative for you.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply man!!

So you are saying I can be confidant of my results at 12 weeks??

And if my 8 week results look really low .. I have read that they test it by numbers like 0.1,0.2 etc.. I can be atleast 90-95% sure that I am not infected?

Thank you!!
