Difference between fordyce spots and oral herpes

Im wondering what the differences are because i felt a slight itchy feeling and when I looked in the mirror there are very tiny clusters of white spots on the corners of my mouth on the inside. Unsure if they are fordyce or herpes. Looks like this person’s https://m.imgur.com/r/popping/S2K8bQl

Well, do yours hurt? Is it tender at all? Is it in both corners of your mouth?

Herpes sores wouldn't typically appear in both corners at the same time, and would at least be tender. The blisters will scab over, forming a scab, and then heal.

Fordyce spots will just be there.

There are other things that it could be - an allergic reaction, angular chelitis - though it doesn't look a lot like that, irritation. If it's sore or tender at all, let your doctor take a look.

Just a little itchy in one corner but the white dots are in both corners of the mouth. Many thanks for the comment.
Since it's new, and itchy, maybe get it checked by the doctor. It doesn't sound like herpes, but that doesn't mean it isn't something else that needs some treatment.

If the doctor thinks it's herpes (which I doubt), don't let them get away with a visual diagnosis, which is wrong a good amount of time. Make them do a swab on it, preferably a PCR swab, which is more sensitive than a regular culture.

Good luck, and hope it goes away soon.
