Survival outside the host.

https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/laboratory-biosafety-biosecurity/pathogen-safety-data-sheets-risk-assessment/herpes-simplex-virus.html

"SURVIVAL OUTSIDE HOST: HSV virus survives for short periods of time outside the host.... It can survive on dry inanimate surfaces (survival ranges from few hours to 8 weeks). They survive longer at lower humidity..."

I'm so confused. So much conflicting information. Is there any research that DOESN'T support this that someone could share with me?

Thanks!

Hsv weakens quickly when exposed. That's the olny thing that really matters. This is why contracting hsv causally from inanimate objects just doesn't happen. Sharing drink or toliet seats are not an issue.
